About Gigi's Kids Speech & Language Therapy

Meet Our Founder

Gigi’s Kids Speech & Language Therapy was founded in 2010 by Amanda Tompkins, MS, CCC-SLP. Her vision was to create a warm, welcoming space where families could receive expert care in a home-like environment.

Amanda brings decades of experience, deep compassion, and a mother’s perspective to her role as owner and lead speech-language pathologist. Her mission is to ensure every child feels seen, understood, and empowered.

Inspired by Compassion & Patience That Leads to Your Child's Success

A personal note from Amanda Tompkins, Owner of Gigi's Kids:

Jill “Gigi” Gurwin was the mother that all other mothers should be measured against and the grandmother that all grandchildren should be blessed with.

She was the friend, partner, and inspiration that made me the woman I am today. My mom taught me to enjoy children, have compassion, and show love in her memory.

I dedicate my business to her and look forward to sharing the gifts she gave me with your children.

Success Stories from Parents

Our daughter began making incredible strides in her speech development

“We’ve been seeing Amanda for speech therapy with our daughter since she was 3 years old, and the progress we’ve seen over the past three years has been truly remarkable! Amanda has been an absolute lifesaver, providing the specialized care our daughter needs, and we are so grateful to have found her. Before we started working with Amanda, we were only seeing a school SLP, but once we switched, our daughter began making incredible strides in her speech development.

Amanda is incredibly supportive and has a wonderful way of working with our daughter. She always approaches each session with a positive attitude and is great at tailoring her approach to meet our daughter’s unique needs.

Beyond speech therapy, Amanda has also been helping our daughter with ADHD, focusing on improving her attention and impulse control. We couldn’t be more thankful for the positive impact Amanda has had on our daughter’s growth and development.”

My boys have attended gigis kids for over 2 years and they love it there

“Speech therapy is tough work. When our daughter worked with Miss Amanda, their sessions were filled with laughter and fun activities that kept our daughter engaged and did not seem like ‘work’. After each session, we were assigned tailored home exercises (usually word sheets) for the upcoming week. The more practice that we put in, the better the outcome. Each check-in provided a positive experience and was something that we looked forward to. We highly recommend Miss Amanda and she has made a difference.”

Amanda and the Gigi's Kids Speech and Language Therapy group are dedicated professionals

“Amanda and the Gigi’s Kids Speech and Language Therapy group are dedicated professionals. I found them during the pandemic when life was crazy. During this time my 18 month old son was not progressing and meeting his speech milestones. Thank God I found Gigi’s Kids! Amanda is very knowledgeable and was dedicated to structuring a plan to meet my son’s needs. She also gave me information such as suggested reading material to assist me with understanding how to help develop speech at home. I 100% trust her because she treats her clients like they are her family. She is invested in their growth and progress. My son’s speech has developed so much. I am feeling very optimistic that he will be on track in no time. Highly recommended !!!! If I could give 10 stars I would.”

I have had the honor of working alongside Amanda for almost 15 years

“I have had the honor of working alongside Amanda for almost 15 years. As a therapist, she is talented, innovative, dedicated, and compassionate. She has a broad knowledge base and seeks to stay current in research and effective therapy practices. Amanda is one of the few SLPs in the area who has many years of experience working with the Deaf and Hard of Hearing population. She has extensive knowledge in both assessing and providing effective therapy for this unique population. Amanda uses various strategies with DHH students such as Visual Phonics and various auditory training strategies and sign language. She has been an advocate for her students and a parent educator. I can honestly say that I hold her in the highest esteem both personally and professionally.”
