Meet the Owner

Amanda G. Tompkins, MS, CCC/SLP

Amanda Tompkins is the founder and owner of Gigi’s Kids Speech & Language Therapy. She has been certified by the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) since 2000, and she has over 25 years of specialized pediatric experience.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in Communication Science and Disorders from Michigan State University in 1996, followed by her master’s degree in Audiology and Speech Sciences from Nova Southeastern University in 1999. She then completed a fellowship in pediatric speech and language development at St. John Hospital.
Amanda also gained extensive experience working in the Bloomfield Hills Schools Deaf and Hard of Hearing program for 15 years, where she developed basic communication skills in American Sign Language (ASL). In addition, she led the speech therapy department for more than a decade at a center affiliated with autism services, further deepening her expertise in supporting children with a wide range of communication needs.
Amanda holds the ASHA Award for Continuing Education (ACE) in recognition of her ongoing commitment to professional excellence and growth. She regularly shares her expertise by providing training for local preschools, parent groups, and educators.
