Frequently Asked Questions
Here are some common questions we get, along with the answers:
How do I know if my child needs speech therapy?
If you’re concerned about your child’s speech clarity, language development, social communication skills, or overall communication abilities, a consultation with one of our speech-language pathologists can help. We offer free phone consultations to discuss your child’s specific needs and determine if therapy would be beneficial.
What ages do you treat?
We specialize in working with children from birth through adolescence. Our experienced therapists tailor each session specifically to your child’s developmental stage and individual needs.
Do you accept insurance?
Yes, we are in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield. Please contact our office manager if you have questions about insurance coverage or payment options, and she will be happy to help. You can reach her by calling (248) 735-8080 or emailing be*****@********ds.com.
Do parents need to attend therapy sessions?
Yes! At Gigi’s Kids, we believe parents and caregivers play an essential role in their child’s success. Parents or caregivers must be present during each therapy session. We encourage active participation so you can learn valuable strategies to use at home to help your child make consistent progress.
Can other family members attend therapy sessions?
Absolutely! We encourage involvement from anyone significant in your child’s daily life, such as grandparents, caregivers, or siblings who help support your child’s communication development.
